Esthetic crowns
A Crown or a cap restore heavily filled, broken or cracked tooth to its original shape and size. It may also be recommended after root canal therapy as the tooth tends to become more brittle and hence more susceptible to fracture. A properly prepared crown would feel just like your own natural tooth and would have a natural appearance.
Crowns are done in two appointments. At the first appointment, the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken and a temporary crown is placed. At the following appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one.
Esthetic bridges
A bridge replace one or more missing teeth and has a very natural appearance. It is attached to adjacent natural teeth by means of crowns, inlays, or onlays. Unlike a partial denture, a bridge is fixed and does not require to be taken out.
Bridges are done in two appointments. At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared, an impression is taken and a temporary bridge is placed. At the following appointment, the temporary bride is replaced with the permanent one.
Crowns and bridges can be done entirely of porcelain or a combination of porcelain and gold. In either case there will be no dark lines or unsightly metal when you smile.
