Toothprinting

Toothprinting for children Toothprinting is an identification tool that provides valuable information for the authorities in case the child becomes lost or is missing. It provides parents and the police a DNA sample, a scent sample and a toothprint of the child. The procedure is fast and comfortable. The child bites down on a softened wafer for few seconds and the hardened wafer containing saliva is placed in a plastic bag which should be stored in a dark place. Ideally, it is recommended to update the toothprints yearly. In lieu of that, the following schedule is recommended:
Initial impression: Age 3
Update: age 7(or after the upper and lower incisors and the first permanent molars have erupted)
Update: age 12 or 13
