Stains caused by smoking, coffee, tea,, red wine, aging or tetracycline can be effectively removed by whitening products prescribed by your dentist. Over the counter bleaching agents can be harmful to the gums and teeth if not used properly. Prescribed products have been subject to many studies and proven to be safe and will not compromise the existing structure of the teeth enamel. The results of teeth whitening can last 6 months to 2 years depending on your eating habits.

In our office we provide two different types of bleaching, at-home bleaching and chair-side bleaching.
For the home bleaching, impressions are taken of the teeth and custom trays are fabricated. The patient is instructed how to dispense the whitening gel in the trays and wear them over-night for 6-8 hours. It takes about 2 weeks for the teeth to brighten a few shades lighter. The result of the whitening varies depending on the teeth and the patient’s compliance. Some teeth sensitivity may result which will resolve in few days.
For the office bleaching, we offer the most advanced teeth whitening system available in the market called Zoom 2. This system uses a full-mouth bleaching light combined with a revolutionary 25% Hydrogen Peroxide light activated gel to lighten teeth 6 to 10 shades in about an hour. The office bleaching is good for the patients who desire immediate results and do not want the inconvenience of trays and gels over a period of time.
